Has Anyone Seen My Baby?

I know, I know, I haven't posted in quite some time. It's summer and we're on the go and always outside. Or as Aiden says, "Outdice." He talks so cute that I find myself talking like him, which always isn't proper. "Aiden, do you want to go outdice?" I'll ask him a question just to hear him say, "Ses" which means Yes. It's crazy how evolved his speech is though. Instead of calling a cow a Moo, now it's a Cow. Instead of signing More, he says More. I remember at his 18-month Dr's appointment he wanted him to talk in 2-3 word sentences by his 2nd birthday. I thought that was absurd and there was no way since he just started talking at that time. Well guess who's talking in 2-3 word sentences?

There are 2 things he'll randomly say. Uncle Jason and Auntie Shannon got a puppy, Archie. On the way to meet Archie I was prepping him that he was going to meet Archie the puppy. I made it into a song and a month later he still randomly sings, "Archie the puppy." Too cute!

The other is a Black Eyed Peas song, "Boom Boom Pow." Again at random times he yells, "I got that boom boom tow." Randomly meaning...in the middle of church. Last week I asked daycare if he does it there and she thought he was singing Dora's, "Boom Boom Shaka Shaka" and then realized it was the BEP song. At least he's getting pretty good at the ABCs in the middle of singing Top 20 songs!

As you all know, my baby is turning 2 in a week. I'm so sad. Uh-oh, here come the tears. Where does time go? I'm planning a Dora/Diego Birthday Fiesta! I found an awesome cake lady and I can't wait to see what she comes up with! Her cakes look like the TLC show Ace of Cakes. Unbelievable. I think I'm more excited about that than everything else I'm doing. I hope it turns out.

We all think Aiden will be an engineer. He needs to know how everything works. We were at the circus parade festivities on thursday and he rode the carousel. He looked up the entire time trying to figure out how the horse was moving up and down. He just got a whistle and studied it to see how it worked and told Steve there was a ball in it. Between that and his drum playing, I said he's doing to be a drum playing engineer! Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I bought him a drum set for his birthday! Hey, if he likes it why not let him have fun? I can always put it in the basement.

Back to the whistle...it was attached to a sleeping bag set that I got him. After he turns 2 he's moved out of the pack 'n play and into a sleeping bag at daycare. I don't know how she thinks he's going to stay put for naptime, but somehow she'll get him to. A new baby is coming this fall so Aiden won't be the baby at daycare anymore. He's very gentle with babies, which is nice to see.

There is so much to tell you about Aiden, but I'd be sitting here typing forever! You'll just have to come over and see for yourself. We're always outside...just come on over!
