Valentine's Day

We had a lot of fun on Valentine's Day! I got a Dora Valentine's Book, a Dora Singing DVD, Play-Doh and an Elmo Car. Daddy and I put signs around the house for mommy, gave her roses and tulips, a sunflower bird feeder and perfume. Mommy and I gave daddy Iron Man on Blu Ray and chocolate. I also made daddy a special Valentine. We went to the Domes for the first time...I loved it! I saw fish, birds, trains, a waterfall and got to run around. Mommy and daddy had a date that night, so I got to play at grandma's!

Valentine's Day Party

Although Aiden is home with me on Fridays, his daycare worked around our schedule so we could attend the Valentine's Day party. We had a lot of fun! The kids wondered why I was staying, but then the girls wanted me to sit next to them during the Valentine card exchange and wanted to sit on my lap during playtime! Those kids are wonderful and I can't tell everyone enough about how much I love Aiden's daycare.

Aiden showed me his Valentine bag, which he worked on decorating all week. He sat with his friends while they put Valentine cards in his bag. He sure got a lot of candy! Then he handed out his Dora Valentine's cards to each of his friends. He did such a good job! He even made a special Valentine card for Steve and me. Then the kids showed me their dance moves. I was shocked that Aiden knows so many songs and their moves. Tonight I even looked up one of the songs on the internet to show Steve how Aiden does dance moves. Aiden amazes me! We stayed for snack...Aiden brought pink Rice Krispie Treats. Then he played in the playroom with his friends. He cried when we left. He absolutely loves it there! Aren't the hats cute??

Not wanting to wear his hat anymore.

Pooped in the Potty

I'm sure you don't want to know this, but I'm going to tell you anyway. Aiden pooped in his little potty today! He loves running around naked, so I decided to have naked time every night (Aiden, not me). Yesterday I let him run around naked and Steve was worried about him peeing in our living room. He brought Aiden's potty in the living room and Aiden sat in it. He started grunting and farting. Then he got up, smiled and started running around. He sat in it again and did the same thing. After Aiden stood up, Steve looked in the potty and saw that he pooped (I'll spare you the picture I took)! I told daycare and she said that he always pulls down his pants and maybe he's telling her he has to go potty. He understands the concept...

My Cousin Jayden

My cousin, Jayden, and I played together...and for the first time I behaved and actually played with him! Don't we look like a couple of little old men?

This is a picture of my daddy and Jayden's daddy when they were about our age. Jayden looks exactly like his daddy! Wasn't my daddy cute?

18 Month Appointment

Aiden had his 18-month doctor's appointment today. He said hi to 3 strangers in the hallway as we walked to the office. Once we got in there the nurse said hi to him and he just glared at her. He hates her. He was even playing with their lobby toys at the time! Once we got into the exam room he freaked out. I don't remember seeing him cry and scream so much before. This was just to get his height, weight, and head measurement. No shots today, but he sure acted like he got 10 of them! He's healthy and weighs 24.10 lbs (50% percentile) and is 33 inches tall (75% percentile). He's tall like his mommy...

The doctor said he may be headstrong. First he said society used to call kids like him "difficult", then they changed it to some other term, and then "freespirited". Doc called it headstrong. He picked it up right away from the questions I asked him. He did say kids like this turn out to be successful as adults. Whatever that means...

It means we're going to have our hands full...we already do!

Kalahari Videos

Reading a Dora Book

He won this snake in the arcade and decided it was hungry. He's breaking up goldfish crackers and putting them in the snake's mouth.

Fun at the Kalahari

We stayed at the Kalahari in the Dells this week...it was a much needed getaway. We talked about upgrading our room when we got there and to our surprise they upgraded us for free! Our room was as long as our house, had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fireplace and huge flatscreen on the wall above the fireplace. Aiden loved the waterpark on Sunday, but had a bug of some sort on Monday and wanted nothing to do with the water. On Sunday he even went down the kiddie slides by himself!

He was face-to-face with a real baby lion! I wish I would have had my camera for that...too cute. I think the highlight of Aiden's vacation was all of the fake animals in the lobby, especially the gorilla. He hugged and kissed it, even tickled his toes before we left on Tuesday! You could always hear his animal sounds echoing in the lobby. Enjoy the pictures!
*********************
Aiden and Daddy went down this slide about 6 times. He laughed so hard afterward and kept signing "more" to go down again!

He just helped himself up the kiddie slides

Holding up the line to say "Hi" to this guy about 10 times...

Yes, he went down this big slide by himself. Of course we were very close to him while he did it.

Our fearless little boy loved the slide!

Here comes the infamous gorilla..."Ooo-ooo-ooo" is what we heard for 3 days.

Hugs...

Kisses...

I thought it was hysterical how little Aiden looked in the big bathtub! This was his very own bathroom.

They had a Pottery Pizazz store at the hotel where you could pick out pottery, paint it, and they fire it for you. I've always wanted to do that, so I was pretty excited! I painted a flower (of course) and Aiden painted a cross ornament. It was cool and I can't wait to do it again with larger pieces.

Everyday at 3 p.m. the kids could decorate cookies in the lobby. As you can see, Aiden thoroughly enjoyed his cookie!
