Aiden These Days

It's been awhile. I post more on Facebook than on here, so you'll just have to be my friend on Facebook to know what's up with Aiden and see pics!

He's such a visual little guy. He knows how to spell Stop and Open from seeing the signs while in the car. Now he spells Aiden, Go, Stop and Open! As we drive around town he knows where everything is. This is what we hear while driving down Howell, "Bye Woodman's, Bye Buffalo Wings (BW3s), Bye Starbucks, Bye Shopping, There's the Ice Cream (Cold Stone)." He's too much of a fan of Starbucks. He LOVES going with daddy on saturday and sunday mornings! They all know him and last weekend he was singing at the top of his lungs in the middle of the store for everyone to hear! They came home and I asked him what he got me. He answered, "Pumpkin Latte." That's my boy!

He's not too into toys, but arts and crafts. He loves playing his instruments, coloring and painting. Definitely an artist.

Santa is showing up everywhere you go these days and he tells me he doesn't like Santa and that he's scary. Halloween wasn't his favorite holiday; he's a scaredy cat like his mama. We're taking him to see Sesame Street Live in a few weeks; we'll see how that goes!

Aiden Update

Wow, time flies in summer (although we didn't really have summer-like weather). I've been adding new Aiden pictures to my Facebook account, so apologize for you non-Facebook users. You'll just have to join the ol' FB and be my friend I guess!

I think Steve and I look at each other daily and say, "Look at him; he's such a big boy." No more baby in our house, that's for sure. I don't even know where to begin. Aiden talks up a storm. That kid's mouth is always moving...I have nooooo idea where he gets that from! Earlier this week he told us he was all done eating because he was tired. Then he said he was tired and had to cut the grass, obviously he heard that from daddy.

The pumpkins, scarecrows and monsters are out in full force in the neighborhood, daycare and the stores. The new thing is, "I'm scared." Actually he says, "I scrrrrrd." (very southern). He says this at anything that looks somewhat Halloweeny. But then we went to a costume shop yesterday and he touched every scary mask. I wouldn't even go near those things (but you all know my history of masks and people dressed in costume)! I'd like to dress him as a cute little puppy since it's probably my last year to dress him how I want. We'll see...either a puppy or a firefighter. We're growing our own pumpkin in our yard...I hope it doesn't die before October!

Aiden started sleeping in a sleeping bag at daycare when he turned 2. Now he sleeps with all of the other big kids on the floor. He has never tried to climb out of his crib at home, so we have no plans on moving him to a big bed any time soon.

Let's see what else...he knows just about all of his letters and he knows a ton of colors (red, blue, green, pink, brown, white, yellow, orange and sometimes white and purple).

Tumbling class started this week. That was interesting and a lot of work for the parents. Holy man! A room that is 90 degrees with kids who don't listen and parents who don't discipline does not make for a fun time. I'm not really liking the instructor either. I think she was a fill-in and not our normal instructor. Aiden is the smallest kid in there, which had me second-guessing if I had him in the right class. He couldn't reach bars like the other kids could, but he had fun! Here's hoping that next week is better.

Hopefully I'll stay on top of this more come fall when we're not always outside and bedtime is earlier for the little guy (which means more "me" time for mommy!).

First Fundraiser

Aiden's had is first fundraiser and I think he outsold everyone! They sold Auntie Anne's pretzels and cookies to help raise money for a new playset. They raised over $500 and got an awesome Rainbow Playset! Thank you to everyone who bought from our little guy :)

Aiden's 2 Year Pics

I LOVE it! Watch how he goes from scowling, "Why is this guy taking pictures of me?" to smiling, "Okay, I can live with having my picture taken while playing." Next time we'll hang out with Jon and Grace for a while so he warms up to them before taking pictures. Lesson learned.

This face warms my heart :)

One more time at the door for some smiley pics
