March for Babies

Last year I was at a bank that was promoting the March of Dimes and they had a preemie diaper displayed. It broke my heart to see such a small diaper. Thinking that Aiden could have been in those really got to me. That night I searched the March of Dimes website to see if they had yearly walks. I told Steve this was going to be one of our family traditions...to participate in the March of Dimes walk each year. This year was our first one at the Racine Zoo and Chris and Jayden joined us! We were prepared to walk 4 miles, but you could choose between 1-mile or 3-mile. The 1-mile was family-friendly and went past all of the animals. We chose that one. We had great weather and Aiden LOVED seeing the animals! Steve and I were very impressed by the Racine Zoo. All of the animals looked healthy (a lot healthier than the Milwaukee Zoo) and it was just a very nice, small zoo. They have a nice play area for little kids, too. If you have little ones, go check it out!

There were 2 giraffes that had a huge area to roam. We didn't know giraffes could look so healthy.

He Pooped!!!!

Lately Aiden yells, "Mama, Dada Poop" when he's in bed and he's pooped. In the last week he's been doing it and he hasn't pooped, but then we find that he's pooped when he's sound asleep. We thought he was trying to get us to get him out of bed. Then we figured out he was probably telling us that he has to poop. We've put him on the potty a few times, but nothing. Tonight I put him down for bed and he said, "Poop." I asked if he wanted to go on the potty and he said, "Potty." That kid pooped more poop than we've ever seen before in that little potty!! He did it!!! And I'm sure you're all thrilled that I shared this with you all...

My Talker

Aiden is really starting to prununciate his words/letters. As a matter of fact, daycare was surprised at how well he's saying his words since the last time she saw him on Thursday. He was labeling everything as, "Duh" but now he's saying the word (shoes, boots, hot dog, ketchup, all done).

Three different days in the last week he came to me with his thumb bent and in my face. His thumb is getting stuck. Does that mean he's going to be double-jointed? I have to push it so he goes straight. Needless to say, Steve is absolutely freaked out by it. Aiden actually gets a kick out of it and giggles. Strange little boy!
