The boys are napping, the house is quiet, so I'm going to journal! I've been putting this off because I'm so behind...I don't even know where to start.
Aiden is soooo much fun - what a cool age! We have him in a gymboree class on wednesday nights at OCHS. It's a bunch of kids his age running around aimlessly for 1/2 hour. The instructor has her own structure, but Aiden could care less. He's off in his own world running around on the wrestling mats! During the first class he football tackled a boy from behind because he thought he tripped him on purpose. Then he pushed down a bigger boy because he wanted his ball. Yikes! He's better now, but we thought for sure we wouldn't make any friends in that class! Part of me thinks it's funny, but we do "scold" him (and then Steve and I laugh about it at home). That was also the week of the time change, he was teething AND he had a cold.
Speaking of that week - I was calling him the spawn of satan. He was SO evil. He discovered temper tantrums during that week and continuously turned on the dishwasher and grabbed for the stove knobs. Thankfully it only lasted a week. My sweet boy had the most evil look on his face.
Aiden is talking like crazy. It's funny when you hear him "singing" to the radio from the backseat or "reading" a book. It pretty much sounds like "Wah - Wah - Wah" (think Peanuts). He loves animals and is really good at his animal sounds/actions. He does an elephant, dog, cat, rooster, lamb, bear, duck, chicken, fish, crocodile, bunny, penguin, lion, pig, cow, horse, turkey, owl, monkey, snake, bee and butterfly. During Halloween he did a Ghost and Monster and now he does Santa. His loves are animals and Dora the Explorer. That is his girlfriend and he is OBSESSED with her. You can't say the "D" word without him stopping what he's doing and running to the TV. He even hands me the remote and asks me to put it on. That's the only show he's interested in. Actually, he will watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 with me...he likes the kids and I'm obsessed with that show! Steve and I say that's us...minus 7 kids. I hope I'm not as rude as her, though. We're going to put up the tree tonight and give Aiden a surprise for when he gets up tomorrow morning! We had a pumpkin that lit up and he made us plug it in IMMEDIATELY after waking up or walking in the door. Then he would stand in front of it and whisper, "Wow!". It was soooo cute. I can't imagine what he'll do with a big christmas tree! He's really good at not touching things (beside his evil week), so I think he won't touch it. I do think he'll trip and fall into it because he runs everywhere. No more walking!
He discovered all of the fun things you can do with snow this afternoon. I even put him in the sled and took him down our hill in the front yard. Our neighbors probably thought we were crazy...with the little snow we have in the yard! Aiden had fun! We're getting ready to be cooped up in the house this winter, so we're making a playroom in the basement. We bought a Dora tent for Aiden for christmas for the basement...he's going to love it! We can't wait for Christmas with Aiden; it's going to be a blast!Aiden has 12 teeth, with at least 1 starting to poke thru. I'm taking him to the dentist next week - wish me luck. He just had his 15 month appointment. He's filling out and getting taller (32.5 inches and 23 lbs). Doc said he's starting to take after Steve.Time to wake up Dora's boyfriend. Enjoy the holidays!
