Ice Cream Truck
The ice cream truck drove past our house while Aiden was playing with his friend outside. Steve bought them both ice cream and introduced the ice cream truck to the 2 of them. Now when Aiden hears a ding from inside the car or a cell phone, he thinks it's the ice cream truck. Oh, or when he sees a big, white Fed-Ex truck, he thinks it's an ice cream truck.

The other night we were driving back from dinner and Aiden kept saying, "Ice cream truck." I finally told him the ice cream truck was ni-night. Then he kept saying, "Mama, ice cream truck ni-night." Then, "Mama, mama, mama." I would answer, "What, honey?" Aiden would say, "Ice cream truck, ni-night." He repeated himself so many times that I started to ignore him. We all heard, "Mama, mama, mama, mama. Amy, Amy, Amy." I wasn't answering him, so he started calling me by my name! He's been calling me by my name a lot this week when he wants attention. He threw out a "Steve" this week, too. Little stinker! In Target today he was screaming, "Amy, Amy, Amy."

Daycare Day at the Zoo (May 17)
As a "job well done" to the kids for their school work this last year, the parents and kids at daycare are invited to go to the zoo. It's nice because you get to meet the families of the kids who are with you child every day. For the second year in a row, Daddy was gone fishing, so it was just Aiden and Mommy. Hopefully Daddy will be able to make it next year. We had fun though!

March for Babies
Last year I was at a bank that was promoting the March of Dimes and they had a preemie diaper displayed. It broke my heart to see such a small diaper. Thinking that Aiden could have been in those really got to me. That night I searched the March of Dimes website to see if they had yearly walks. I told Steve this was going to be one of our family traditions...to participate in the March of Dimes walk each year. This year was our first one at the Racine Zoo and Chris and Jayden joined us! We were prepared to walk 4 miles, but you could choose between 1-mile or 3-mile. The 1-mile was family-friendly and went past all of the animals. We chose that one. We had great weather and Aiden LOVED seeing the animals! Steve and I were very impressed by the Racine Zoo. All of the animals looked healthy (a lot healthier than the Milwaukee Zoo) and it was just a very nice, small zoo. They have a nice play area for little kids, too. If you have little ones, go check it out!

There were 2 giraffes that had a huge area to roam. We didn't know giraffes could look so healthy.
